"GEST (which translates as Group for the Examination and Study of Terroirs) is a private association which was created in 1995. Today it is a group of about 80 winegrowers from Burgundy who are interested in exploring new ways of understanding and of managing the vineyards and the soils, in a sustainable and highly qualitative way.
The main objectives of GEST are to share knowledge and to fund research so as to better understand what a "terroir" is; how it works and how to better express in the wine the unique and inherent character of the soil. The applied techniques that are recommended put the emphasis on preserving the soil and the environment.
GEST's winegrowers constantly try to improve their practical-knowledge on soil in the aim of using agricultural techniques (e.g. compost spraying or tilling) that can optimize the specific functioning of each soil and express the amazing diversity and typicity of terroirs-driven wines.
The following lots 260 to 289 have all been donated by the respective Domaines, members of GEST. Proceeds from the sale will be used to fund further research and development for the Groupement
