A FINE AND RARE CARVED CLAIRE-DE-LUNE GLAZED DISH
YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN DOUBLE-CIRCLES AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)
With rounded sides rising from a tapering foot, the exterior finely carved with bats in flight above a continuous band of waves crashing on rocks around the base, with keyfret border below the mouth rim, all under a thin translucent pale blue glaze stopping neatly around the foot

Lot Essay

A very similar example but with a ridge below the mouth rim instead of keyfret border was sold at Sotheby's London, 11 June 1991, lot 237.
