Full plate gilt-finished verge movement, chain fusee, finely pierced and engraved balance cock and foot, diamond endstone, metal dust cap, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, outer Arabic five minute divisions, centre seconds stopped/started by a lever in the bezel, plain inner case, outer gold and turquoise and polychrome enamel floral decorated bezel, agate-set back, diamond-set thumbpiece, movement and dust cap signed, inner case stamped RP and with London date letter for 1780

A John Ilbery, apprenticed to William Lloyd on 4 November 1765, seems to have been contemporary with the better known William Ilbury (or Ilbery) who also specialized in watches for the Chinese market. Since William and John worked in the same street during a period of time, there might have been some relationship between them.
