BOX: three tier mahogany box with brass drop handles, mid section with ivory roundel signed 'ARNOLD/&/DENT/1350', brass bowl punch numbered '1350' and gimbal DIAL: 90 mm. diameter engraved and silvered dial with state-of-wind and seconds subsidiaries, signed 'ARNOLD & DENT/84 Strand London No. 1350', blued steel hands MOVEMENT: with single chain fusee, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel helical spring, spring detent escapement; tipsy winding key, box key

Lot Essay

J R Arnold (son of John Arnold) and E J Dent are recorded working from 84 Strand, London circa 1830. The company was dissolved in 1840 and taken over by Charles Frodsham in 1843 upon Arnold's death.
