Lot Essay

The inscription to the base refers to Miles Jebb son of Hubert Miles Gladwyn Jebb, 1st Baron Gladwyn the prominant British politician, civil servant and diplomat, and Sir Harold Nicolson KVCO CMG, also a prominant British diplomat, author and politician, husband of the author and poet Vita Sackville-West.
