Los tres músicos

After studying at the San Carlos Fine Arts School, Valencia, between 1954 and 1957 Mompó lived in Paris, Rome and Amsterdam before returning to Spain shortly after. In his earlier paintings he represented urban themes, popular celebrations and landscapes, but he gradually began to dissolve the forms in scenes full of light, inhabited by small, subtle and joyful symbols.
