Standing in a habit painted with diagonal wavy lines holding a later associated wood model of the Christ child on a naturalistic base, a silver halo attached to the back of his head, flesh tone repainted

Lot Essay

The painted striations on the habit simulate the texture of cloth. Similar painting was a speciality of Alonso Cano and Pedro de Mena.
