Pauillac, 1er cru classé. Château-bottled
"One could be forgiven for mistaking the 2000 Latour for a barrel sample. At a recent dinner, the wine showed a super-ripe fruit blackberry and plum fruit with the influence of the sweet French oak casks still in evidence, along with floral notes and a hint of pepper, licorice and anise on the nose. On the palate the wine was initially very, very tannic and dense, but behind this the wine was supple, sweet and round, with a finesse that will serve it well in years to come." CC, May 2011
