Edo period (18th century), with signature Hanzan
Decorated in red and gold hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with a horn-inlaid cicada on a tree trunk, the reverse with chrysanthemums in a basket, inlaid in mother-of-pearl, and a hoe, all against a roiro ground, the interior fundame; with a wood netsuke of a cicada on an overturned basket, signed Harumitsu and with a stone bead ojime
