The box with rounded corners and overhanging lid decorated in varicolored gold, silver, red and roiro hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and nashiji with courtesans with a boy and a girl at leisure, the underside of the lid decorated with a girl in kimono opening a screen with a painting of two cranes while a cat investigates, all on a dark brown-lacquer and kinji ground, the lower tray decorated with a koro on a carved red lacquer stand, a tall vase and two books with design of autumn moon and grasses, fitted with a slate inkstone with fundame rim and an ovoid, silver-plated waterdropper (suiteki) in the shape of an autumn moon; the interior mura-nashiji, rims fundame
