The lacquer box in the form of a birdcage set on four bracket feet, decorated in varicolored gold and silver hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, iro-e togidashi and nashiji with birds in flight inside the cage, the base with a band of diaperwork and the four feet with floral motifs on a kinji ground; interior and base nashiji
