A Blue and White Porcelain Dish
Joseon dynasty (19th century)
The shallow dish circular with slightly flaring walls and resting on a high ring foot, painted in the well in underglaze cobalt blue with a riverscape roundel showing a craggy shoreline across wind-blown waves from distant mountains, large clouds and the sun breaking through a mantle of haze, all within a double-line border, the underside painted with a faint blue line below the rim and with a darker blue line around the foot, the whole also decorated with a glossy transparent glaze; two incised marks on deep recessed base
