COMPREHENSIVELY GERMAN, 16TH CENTURY AND LATER
Of bright steel, comprising a burgonet with two-piece skull with plain comb with turned ridge, the lower edge with a flange carting a single neck-plate with turned edge, plume holder, applied pointed peak with turned edge, deep hinged cheek-pieces each pierced with a roundel of small circular holes and flanged to match the neck-plate, and plain domed lining-rivets throughout, almain-collar of a main-plate and three neck-plates at the front and rear, and spaulders of seven plates each, the lower plate on each side with turned roped edge, cuirass of so-called 'Maximilian' type comprising back-plate shaped to the shoulders, decorated with radiating flutes, narrow flange at the base and turned roped edges at the arms, and fluted globose breast-plate with thick turn at the neck, mounting block for a lance-rest, movable arm gussets each with prominent roped turn, and two applied panels of recent manufacture beneath the arms, skirt of three fluted plates, and short tassets of four plates each, and later elbow-length gauntlets each with turned roped main edge, on clothed wooden stand
