A gray schist figure of Buddha
Gandhara, 2nd/3rd century
Finely carved with the Buddha standing atop a rectangular plinth with carved flowers on either side and four worshippers surrounding a flame at center, clad in a voluminous sanghati draped neatly over his arms, his face in a benign expression with full lips, heavy-lidded eyes and arched brows centered by a raised urna, flanked by elongated earlobes, his wavy hair pulled over the ushnisha and backed by a nimbus
