A BUFFALO HORN FIGURE OF A QILIN
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The well-carved mythical beast with head turned backwards as it stands atop an open base formed by wind-tossed waves, stained a russet color; together with a bamboo cup, 17th/18th century, well carved and undercut around the sides with a stag and a doe beneath the overhanging branches of a pine tree carved on the opposite side
