A PAIR OF LARGE ZITAN ARMCHAIRS
18TH/19TH CENTURY
Each with tall splat inset with a rectangular panel finely carved in relief with the characters yun qing guan amidst confronted chilong and archaistic scrolls and framed by the openwork back and side rails carved as further archaistic scrolls, above the zitan seat set within the wide rectangular frame, the narrow waist above plain, beaded aprons and stepped stretchers joined by archaistic and ruyi head-form struts, the thick, beaded legs of square section terminating in hoof feet
