WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619)
With shallow rounded sides rising to a slightly everted rim, the center painted with a five-clawed dragon leaping amidst clouds above two phoenixes confronted on a flaming pearl, below four roundels enclosing the characters, fu ru dong hai (Blessings as vast as the Eastern Sea), joined by a band of roiling green waves set below scattered blossoms, with a band of multicolored lotus scroll on the exterior
