FIRST EDITION IN FRENCH. Linocier's translation of Du Pinet's Historia plantarum, with additions taken from the works of Mattioli, Gesner, and others to provide a comprehensive history of plants in general, aromatic plants, quadrupeds, birds, fish, serpents, and the manner of distilling plants. L'histoire des plantes aromatiques is based, for the most part, on the works of Charles de l'Écluse, Garcia d'Orta, and Nicolás Monardes. Du Pinet's work first appeared in 1561.
