The Euxine or Black Sea from the Russian Survey of 1836. London: Hydrographic Office of the Admiralty, 20 September 1853. Engraved map by J. and C. Walker in 21 sections, hand-coloured in blue wash, mounted on linen, and folding into contemproary calf travelling case with crest of lion and coronet on spine label (closed tear in one section, case lightly rubbed and chipped, label torn), 650 x 1015mm. Provenance: contemporary pencil annotations, outlining the activities of the British Fleet down to November 1854, with a list of the ships taking part and numbers killed and wounded.
