A DUTCH WALNUT and BURR-WALNUT LONGCASE CLOCK WITH CALENDAR
LATE 19th/early 20th century
The case of typical form, the balloon-shaped hood surmounted by giltwood figural finials, the trunk door with lenticle mount depicting father time, on claw and ball feet. The polychrome decorated brass dial depicting a landscape, with penny moon and silvered chapter ring inscribed Jacobus Waten, the engraved and matted centre with sectors for day of the week flanked by two ringed winding holes. The brass four pillar movement with pinwheel escapement and Dutch strike on two bells; two weights, pendulum, winding key and doorkey
