Modeled as Cupid in a spaniel-driven chariot, the wheel formed as the dial, with blue-enameled chapter ring, the oblong marble base centered to the front with tasseled drapery inscribed L'amour Conduit par la fidelité, on circular tapering feet
20¼ in. (51.5 cm.) high, 20½ in. (52 cm.) wide, 6 in. (15.2 cm.) deep

An early 19th century example of this clock is illustrated in P. Kjellberg, La Pendule Française, Paris, 1997, fig. D, p. 418. A late 19th century reproduction of comparable quality was sold Christie's, New York, 20 april 2006, lot 111 ($14,400).
