Finely painted after Siemiradzki with a man being tempted by an antique vase in his lap and by the proferring of a semi-nude concubine by two slave traders, within a gilt beaded rectangular surround, further foliate scrollwork and polychrome medallions

Henryk Siemiradzki, Polish (1834-1902), attended the academy of Beaux- Arts in Saint Petersburg, Munich and Rome; and was awarded a gold medal at the 1898 Universellle Exposition, Paris.
