Lot Essay

The present calligraphy painting by the acclaimed Iranian artist Faramarz Pilaram was acquired by the present owner from Club Rasht 29 in Tehran in 1968, along with Lovers by Parviz Tanavoli (lot 149). The work thus evokes the flourishing art scene in Tehran in the late 1960s and is undoubtedly a collector's piece.
