Lot Essay

'Believing is an action taken with difficulty. As children, we never had difficulty believing. Our minds were so driven by imagination and optimism that the word "impossible" never existed in our world. A cloud could be a kitten, or a toy we loved so much. To some, this photographic image is a sea of black silk. And to some it's a dancer in the dark hidden behind a mask. It's all in how you see it. This is not a photograph. To me, this is motivation printed on paper. I am asking people to believe.' Saeed Khalifa

Through this work of art, Saeed Khalifa uses mainly digital photography combined with digital painting. He shoots his elements separately and then add them digitally together to form a certain shape. Saeed Khalifa invites the viewers while contemplating his work to create an imagery of their own. He gives his viewers complete freedom and control to see and interpret what they want.
