An English elm or ash double-sided trencher
In the 17th century style but of later manufacture
Of square form with tapered handle, one side with circular depression, and both sides with smaller salt depressions to the corners
9 7/8 in. (25 cm.) long

The W.J. Shepherd Collection, inventory no. KD1520 (according to a paper label inscribed by hand in ink and attached to the reverse).
