Lot Essay

This is one of a number of delightful works, mostly drawings, that Orpen produced featuring his wife Grace and his first-born daughter, Mary (Bunny). Mary having been born in September 1902, her appearances in this drawing would suggest that the work dates to the earlier part of 1903.
We are very grateful to the Orpen Reseach Project for their assistance cataloguing this lot.
