Lot Essay

The movement of the present watch, even though not signed, is most certainly the work of Louis Audemars. Not only are style and quality very much identical to his work, but also the numbering sequence made during the 1860s matches with this example.

For a biographical note on Louis Audemars see the previous lot in this auction.
