Gilt-finished slim verge movement, finely engraved and pierced balance cock, chain fusée, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, gilt serpentine hands, circular case, pearl-set bezel and rim, applied chased and engraved scroll decorated floral initials to the glazed crystal back, dial and movement signed

Of English origin, Pierre Gregson, watchmaker to Louis XVI, enjoyed great popularity in Paris in the late 18th and early 19th century, his watches distinguished by their excellent quality and exquisite case decorations.
