Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with enamel dial, Roman hour markers, small second hand and guilloched case back in 1904 and its subsequent sale on 14 July 1904.

This watch is an unusual example of a Gondolo watch, featuring the first owner's name Dr. João Victorio Pareto Junior on the upper half of the dial whereas the signature Patek Philippe & Cie. Genève was moved to the lower half.

To the best of our knowledge, it has furthermore never been offered in public before.
