Of irregular form, both sides inscribed and gilt with a poem for the keeping of good health, a seal Shanlin, with two apertures at one end for attachment, stone of an opaque greenish tone with brown russet skin along the edge and white mottling

Lot Essay

The inscriptions are by Xu Lian (1787-1862) whose other name is Shanlin, a native of Haining, Zhejiang province. He was awarded jinshi and served as government official in the Daoguang period.
