Lot Essay

This work was one from a series of eight sculptures commissioned directly from the artist by GVG Editions, Monterrey, Mexico. The sculptures were issued in editions of three each with a unique and different finish. Tamayo worked for approximately four years. The works were completed in 1989 and first exhibited in 1990.
