Pétrus--Vintage 1992
Pomerol, cru exceptionnel
Tasting note:
In a blind 'flight' of five magnums, four top Right Bank Bordeauxs, the fifth Chapoutier's Ermitage Le Pavillon. It was later revealed that wine No 1 was Pétrus. It had what I often describe as a 'Parker 100' depth of colour; nose hefty, peppery, with a touch of stalkiness; initially dry and surprisingly complete, crisp and tannic. Though sever, it sweetened up with the food. 'Flight' 2 at Rodenstock's dinner in Munich, Sept 1996 (**) A good '92 but future hard to predict. MB
