BINDING -- GILBERT, N.J.L. (1750-80). Oeuvres. Paris: J. Didot l'ainé for Dalibon, 1823. 8° (207 x 123mm). Half-title, engraved portrait frontispiece and 4 plates by Desenne. (Spotted, stain at gutter of endpapers.) Contemporary Paris romantic binding by Bogetti, signed at spine foot: purple morocco tooled in gilt with citron, green, blue and red on-lays, wide gilt turn-ins, liners of olive-green morocco with mosaique rose window design, gilt edges (faintly rubbed, corners slightly bumped).
