Lot Essay

For the last 30 years Ronnie Wood has involved himself in the music world, first with the Jeff Beck Group, then Rod Stewart and the Faces and since 1976 as a member of the Rolling Stones. However what has come to light recently is that Ronnie Wood also has a talent for drawing and painting. His interest in art was encouraged both at home and at Art School and his achievements at Ruislip Manor gained him entry into Ealing Vollege of Art. He would have made his career in art like his two elder brothers if music had not taken over. He has never ceased to draw and paint for himself and his friends whether at home or on tour. Since his first collection of Monotypes and Woodcuts in 1984 he has worked with studios in America and Britain producing further graphics in other mediums such as screen printing and dry point. He has exhibited in Japan, Europe, and the United States.
