CIRCA EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.
Including two Luristan standard finials, in the form of the "Master of the Animals," each with a pair of rampant winged composite monsters, fitted around a circular hollow shaft; an Amlash two-headed ibex, with large curving horns; and an Iranian male figure, wearing a floor-length robe, holding a sword secured on his belt
Taller Finial: 12¾ in. (32.5 cm.) high (4)
Provenance
Right finial: with Manouchehr Soleiman Aaron, Tehran, 1967.
Others: Acquired by the current owner's family, Switzerland.
All: Brought to the U.S. prior to 1974.
