TWO PAIRS OF LATE ROMAN GOLD EARRINGS
CIRCA 3RD CENTURY A.D.
Each with the arching earwire joined to an openwork disk of radiating petals, an openwork voluted panel below with loops on the reverse, one pair with a central depression with a wire threaded through a pearl bead, suspending three pendants, each set with a red or green glass (one missing), a pearl threaded onto the ends; and one pair with a deep central depression, suspending three pendants (one missing on one), each with a blue glass bead threaded onto the ends (one bead lost on one)
First pair each: 1½ in. (3.8 cm.) long (4)
