The first with single-edged polished blade of traditional form and construction, later hilt with pierced iron tsuba with some gold-inlaid details, handachi mounts in copper, and cord-bound rayskin-covered grip, in copper-mounted red lacquer scabbard with kodzuka; the second with blunt tapering blade incised with script, embossed two-piece copper hilt, and ornate copper-covered scabbard, the hilt and scabbard set with semi-precious stones
