AN ENGRAVED .44-40 MODEL 1873 'FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER' SIX-SHOT SINGLE-ACTION REVOLVER
BY COLT, HARTFORD, SERIAL NO. 61327 FOR 1880
With scroll engraved nickel-plated sighted barrel (2011 nitro proof) and ejector-rod cover, the former with address details and signed 'COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER', scroll engraved nickel-plated frame, cylinder (index pegs expertly repaired) and hammer each heightened with a gold border line, nickel-plated grip-strap engraved with further scrollwork and the inscriptions 'J. THIERRY & C. POËNCIN' and 'YVES DE MONTAIS', a gold-inlaid heraldic shield beneath Comte's crown, and wooden grips each carved in low relief with oak leaves and acorns
