rectangular box, the hinged cover, sides and base with engine-turning, polished gold borders with slightly raised foliate thumbpiece, the interior cover engraved with presentation inscription

The presentation inscription reads 'Presented to Robert Knox Esq. on his leaving Orroland. as a public expression of esteem. 1858.'
