BY SIMON ACHILLE LEGER (FL. 1815-1826), PARIS, WITH THE THIRD STANDARD MARK FOR 18 CARAT GOLD, PARIS 1809-1819
shaped rectangular, the hinged cover and base with panels of engine-turning with leaf pattern, the convex sides chased with foliate scrolls on a sablé ground, raised scroll thumbpiece, later engraved with an inscription inside of cover which reads 'From S. Rupert Cambell & Ernest Hill to Montagu Summers as a token that he is always ready at a pinch August 3rd 1906'
