Château Haut-Brion--Vintage 1983
Pessac (Graves), 1er cru classé
In original wooden case. One slightly corroded capsule. One very slightly nicked label, otherwise excellent appearance. Levels: 2.5cms below base of corks or better
Tasting note: Many notes. Very distinctive, sweet, earthy. Fully evolved by the end of the 1990s. By 2003 though still deep, a mature rim; very good fragrant bouquet, flavour and balance. Most recently, impressive colour; sweet, rich, velvety, fleshy, 'iron fist in velvet glove'. Last tasted Oct 2005 ***** M.B.
