Three-quarter plate gilt-finished lever movement, bi-metallic compensation balance, diamond endstone, 52 and a half minute revolving carriage, gold cuvette, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, outer calibrated 1/5th seconds ring, two sunken subsidiary dials for 30 minute register with red Arabic numerals and constant seconds, plain circular case, chronograph operated through the crown, five joint knuckle, case and movement numbered, case and cuvette stamped with casemaker's initials PW and London date letter for 1896

Lot Essay

Accompanied by copies of the Kew Register of Watches Received and Dispatched, and an Abstract of the Results where the watch was tested between February 14th until March 30th 1899, gaining an "A" certificate with a mark of 78.7.

Although unsigned the watch was submitted for testing by Joseph Player & Son of Coventry, who worked closely with Bahne Bonniksen.
