AUBUSSON, THIRD QUARTER 18TH CENTURY, AFTER FRANÇOIS BOUCHER AND A CARTOON BY JEAN-JOSEPH DUMONS
Woven in silks and wools depicting 'La Foire' with a maiden buying a bird from an elder, the foreground with a kneeling man, two birds on a cage with figures to the right with parasols, the background with tents, further cages and palm trees, with C-scroll and floral borders, later bround guard stripe, reduced in height to the bottom of the main field, cut and shut, some reweaving and patching
