The fitted top drawer and void lower drawer with ebonised escutcheons flanked by turned corner mouldings on a foliate carved base applied with tiny roundels, the feet also carved in mahogany, the lower drawer with partly illegible maker's inscription underneath ".......August 9th 1822 Philadelphia", the upper drawer underside with an almost certainly contemporary pencil cartoon of a man wearing a top hat (very likely the maker) signed with illegible initials underneath
29½ in. (75 cm.) high; 19¾ in. (50 cm.) wide; 16 in. (40.5 cm.) deep
