The service with four varied bowls and six handle shapes, each handle with different decoration, as follows: one pierced bamboo and birds, one Japanese, two lap-over-edge, applied, including one with copper tendrils, one mokume, two mixed metal including one with mokume gourds, two with etched vine designs and one with applied crab, the reverse of each variously engraved with monogram SPL, each marked on reverse
