A CHINESE IVORY FAN IN A FITTED BLACK AND GILT LACQUER BOX
CIRCA 1860, CANTON FOR EXPORT
The sticks pierced and carved with pagodas and figures, the leaf embroidered in pastel silks with egrets beneath a bamboo tree, the recto with waterfowl beneath a prunus tree, the leaf with ostrich feather trim and engraved silver handle hung with tassles, in a gilt-lacquered box
The box: 2½ in. (6.5 cm.) high; 7 1/8 in. (43.5 cm.) long; 3 1/8 in. (8 cm.) deep
