A FRENCH ORMOLU-MOUNTED PORPHYRY LYRE-SHAPED MANTEL CLOCK
CIRCA 1880
CASE: headed by a garlanded espagnolette mask, the beaded lyre-shaped body wrapped with acanthus and on a spreading socle and stepped oblong plinth mounted with ribbon-tied garlands and scrolling foliage, on turned feet, re-gilt; DIAL: the enamel dial with Roman and Arabic chapters, with skeletonised centre and inner concentric calendar, pierced and engraved hands, in a paste surround; MOVEMENT: twin barrels movement with anchor escapement and count wheel strike on bell
