Lot Essay

Part of a larger service, these pieces are decorated with the Order of St. Cuthbert and the date 1538 which presumably commemorates the destruction of St. Cuthbert's tomb during the dissolution of the monastereies. This service has been tentatively attributed to John Chambers's factory, Dublin.
