oval, 3 5/8 in. (92 mm.) high, rectangular brown leather travelling case, the interior cover centred with gilt-metal plaque engraved 'Francis Jack Viscount Newry & Merne: MP b. 2 Feb.1815: m. 29 July 1839. Anne Amelia eldest daughter of General The Hon. Sir Charles Colville G.C.B. d.v.p. 6. May 1851.'

Francis Jack Needham, Viscount Newry, was the eldest son of Francis Needham, 2nd Earl of Kilmorey and his wife Jane Gun-Cuninghame. He served as MP for Newry and Mourne, Northern Ireland from 1841 until his death in 1851. He married, in 1839, Anne Amelia Colville, daughter of General the Hon. Sir Charles Colville.
