Edo period (dated 1845), signed Kato Kangoro Fujiwara Kanemune saku and Echigo shu, Koka ni kugatsu hi (Echigo, a day in the ninth month of 1845)
Sugata [configuration]: hira-zukuri with shallow curvature, mune-hikushi
Kitae [forging pattern]: itame
Hamon [tempering pattern]: gunome
Boshi [tip]: kaeri-tsuyoshi
Nakago [tang]: suriage with sujigai file marks, one mekugi-ana, kata-yamagata
Habaki [collar]: single silver-clad copper
Nagasa [length of blade]: 36.1cm
